Tankless Water Heater

Question by Damion G: Can I put a HVAC unit in my attic?
My current outside all-in-one unit is failing and I would like to switch to a split unit (one with the condenser outside and the heating/air handling unit inside). I already have natural gas going to my otherwise unused attic for the tankless water heater. Is it possible to install the heating and air circulating unit inside and if so, what would that require in terms of connecting it to the outside condenser and other utilities?

It would require incoming and return freon lines to compressor, some low voltage wiring to compressor and thermostat, 110v for power to the unit and probably an additional gas line. The water heater and furnace both consume a large volume of gas. Unless the line at present is over sized, you may need a larger, or additional one for the furnace.
